Stormy Day

Clouds race across the darkening sky,
birds homeward fly.
Through wind and rain,
shelter and safety to attain

Leaves run before the wind,
caught in a spiral,
they rise and fall.
The wind whistles and calls,
leaves tumble and twist,
to find shelter beneath the wall

Flashes light up the blackened sky,
clouds charged with blue light,
a spectacular sight.
Clouds heavy with rain,
sag as in pain.
Thunder rolls and crack,
raindrops fall.
