Allotment Advances

Caswell Clinic AllotmentThis year has seen the first ever harvest from the allotment! Ten different people have been involved in preparing the ground and nurturing the plants to produce a wonderful crop. They have been involved in a range of tasks from digging, weeding, sowing, watering to harvesting the fruits of the labour.
During breaks, the gardeners have also enjoyed watching the chickens and ducks who live on the wider allotment site—and have even been seen chatting to them!
A wide range of vegetables have been successfully grown, including onions, garlic, carrots, squash, courgettes, marrows, sweetcorn, runner beans and peas. This healthy food has been enjoyed on the wards, for communal meals and individual cooking sessions.
When asked about why he comes to the allotment Lee said, “I enjoy walking around”
