Summer BBQ

Dan, Groups Co-ordinator and organiser of the Summer BBQ, reports on the 2019 event:

Summer is the season for outdoor fun and games, of music festivals and of course; barbeques. For the second year running, for one afternoon, the User Friendly Group put on an event that brought these elements together, transforming the Astroturf into the village green... albeit with a big fence around it.

The tug of war was hard fought and the winning team was led by the ladies from Newton ward. This may have taken a few people by surprise and also provided an opportunity for us all to rub it in to Craig and Gareth’s gym boys. Well done ladies.

The activity coordinators did a great job in organising activities. Amongst the games, we had a coconut stall and an archery competition. I’m still amazed to say that there were no serious injuries!

Our resident band: “The Cured” played a fantastic set, entertaining the crowd and providing some light relief from Gareth’s dreadful music.

We also took the opportunity to congratulate Ruth on her retirement and thanked her for her 20 years service.

This event was made possible due to the hard work of our excellent staff and patients at Caswell Clinic.

Thanks all.
