Education Sessions.
"Education Sessions" sounds very grand but really it's all about learning more about a subject that is of interest to you. Over the years students have worked towards qualifications in such subjects as map reading, Welsh history, the American West, European Geography, Health and Social Care, Art and Design, Human Biology, Health and Safety as well as the more traditional, Maths, English, History, Geography and Science. Currently the subjects being studied are: Astronomy, Economics, Animal Care, Physics, Punctuation and Spelling.
There is no pressure to undertake qualifications but if doing the work it seems a shame not to get the recognition. Wherever possible the courses are tailored to individuals in terms of level, past learning and needs. There are no exams as the courses involve modules of course work. Individuals can complete one module or opt to study for several, either relating to one subject or different ones; though not all at the same time! Most modules involve approximately ten sessions.
The sessions take place on a Wednesday, 5.30-7.30. If you want to know more ask a member of the OT staff.
Over the years I have worked with many students at the clinic and look forward to meeting and working with many more.
