Issue 27
Drama Group
The drama group ran for 10 weeks. We were able to build up our confidence, through working together as a team and carrying out activities such as mime, improvisation and games. It was a good opportunity to get to know different people and build friendships.
As a group we decided we would like to put on a production so we brainstormed our ideas on a piece of paper. The ideas that people came up with were really good and we decided on the idea of "Britain′s not got talent". Some of us were involved in writing the scripts.
On the day, there was a lot of improvisation and we didn′t always keep to the script. Everyone did really well and we all really enjoyed it. People were nervous before hand but when you saw everybody clapping it felt good and gave us a sense of achievement. We all felt the music added something special to our performance and brought it all together.
We also asked the audience what they felt about the performance. Here are some of their comments:
"Entertaining." "Great to see everyone involved." "I felt emotional"."It was great to see everything come together". "Jubilant".
Everyone involved wants to thank Alison and Jez for their perseverance, determination and enthusiasm. They gave us confidence and inspiration to achieve our final goal.
