An Ode to a Tree

Diamond drops glistening,
Wise and self aware.
Are you immortal? Are you in there?

I’ve seen you in your full regalia,
Lifeless sky-reaching branches.
Your deciduous beauty,
Your grey-green trunk.

I know you’re immortal.
In spring we’ll meet again.
